Habakkuk the Prophet will ask some of the most PENETRATING questions in all of Scripture. As a prophet, instead of receiving a message FROM GOD to the people, Habakkuk speaks TO GOD about the people and what’s happening around him – and God answers him. When God answers him, we get a proper view of God.

What question(s) does Habakkuk ask God? It’s a question we have all asked at some point in our lives: “If there is some loving, all-knowing, and all-powerful God, then why do bad things happen to good people? Why does God allow these things to happen?”

Habakkuk gives voice to our bewilderment and he articulates our puzzled attempts to make sense of what’s going on around us. He insists that God PAY ATTENTION as we ask difficult questions and refuse to stay silent.
